“Służewiec Przemysłowy”
2018

Book and Illustration Design Studio, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

Leading Professor: Błażej Ostoja Lniski
Assistant: Paulina Buźniak

Inspiration for my MA Degree was one of my corporate work experience. I used to work in office situated in “famous” office area in Warsaw. According to estimates, in 2018 about 80-100 thousand people commuted to work in Służewiec Przemysłowy district every day. It has also become one of the symbols of corporate work, with a specific type of people – young, ambitious and overworked, chasing subsequent “deadlines”, which affects their private lives. Difficult access, traffic jams and problems with parking places mean that some candidates refuse nowadays to accept job offers in companies based in this part of the city.

Almost two years of work there (except having a good work experience) inspired me to create book with illustrations showing this place in my own visual language.

Book was printed on Munken Arctic Paper and hand-assembled by bookbinders in Warsaw.
Illustrations where digitally created from scans of hand-drawn by coal papers.

Master Degree Project (Additional Specialisation)
“URBAN”
2018

Drawing Studio, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

Leading Professor: Jacek Staszewski
Assistant: Olek Myjak

URBAN installation was dedicated to my home city – Warsaw. I always wanted to create something related directly to my home. The installation consists of 18 elements – as many as districts in Warsaw. Every element is a collage of hand-drawn rectangles glued to huge format papers.

As I find architectural forms extremely inspiring, I decided to use forms that everyone can meet in Warsaw. Skyscrapers, post-communist blocks of flats, small buildings hidden between extremely high ones, small mysterious courtyards, thousands of city lights and much more.

Those experimental drawings were created with coal, ink, paper and glue in honor to classic drawing techniques.
